Built for Adventure
With the Mega Rig Pirates Ship, living rooms, backyards, and bathtubs all become places pirate adventures. The different ship components are made from durable plastic, which holds up to playtime on land or water. Built with Styrofoam inside, the base of each ship will float, and with built-in yellow wheels, can also roll along the ground. Smaller pieces, like the treasure chests, have rounded snap bottoms that easily and firmly connect to other building components.
The pirate-ship set also comes with two pirate figures -- a captain and a crew member, a harpoon launcher, and a giant purple squid complete with suction tentacles.
Lots of fun.
I bought this for my 5 year old last Christmas. He was so excited to play with the pirates and the giant octopus (which is very wiggly). He enjoys taking it apart, putting it back together, and shooting the cannons. This has become a regular bath time staple. I like that when we take it out of the tub, the ship drains out quickly and no water gets left behind inside to go sour.
The big hit of Christmas!!!
This wasn't intended to be the big gift for Christmas, I had spent quite a bit of money on a train table and was expecting that to be my son's favorite. I was totally wrong! I even bought this toy as an afterthought, it was only $7.99 a few days before Christmas and so I just went ahead and bought it. Almost 6 months later my 3 year old still plays with EVERY DAY! It's nice that it can go in the water, and it floats and little hands can assemble it easily. It has small wheels on the bottom so it "sails" on the carpet nicely, and it doesn't have too many small parts.
Played with in every bath since xmas 09
My son loves this set. It is his new bathtime fave. Comes with 2 salty dog pirates which we have named Neddy and Patchy. Water drains quickly and easily for storage between baths. Pieces can reconfigure for many different boats. Lots of fun.
Kids loved it - great for bathtime
Given as a gift. Kids loved it for 2 main reason: it's (very) big, and it's great in the water. Was a nice surprise when it arrived.
Three year old loves loves loves this toy.
This toy gets more action than any other in the house since it arrived three months ago. It is played with nearly every day in and out of the tub. More out of the tub actually. I can imagine that he will continue to favor this toy for a long time to come.

Fustration Free Packaging/Present a Goner! The fustration free packaging was the easiest I have ever opened in a childs gift. Great idea! Unfortunately the present hardly outlasted the packaging. My exuberant nephew made short work of his new Christmas gift and by New Years Day it was a goner! Great packaging though! :2010-09-16 03:08:55
Sturdy and fun.... I bought this for my son for Christmas last year. I really wasnt thrilled with it when I unpacked it. It just didnt seem that interesting to me. Fortunately the ship was not for me it was for my four year old. He really likes this thing. He still plays with it in the bathtub at least once or twice a week. It was difficult for him to put some of the pieces together (still is) but he can manage most of them. He likes keeping the pieces separate so he can have two or three boats in the tub at once. My only criticisms..... when the ship is totally assembled it doesnt stay upright very well in the water. That drives my son a little crazy. The grappling hook on the front is a cool idea but it never really worked that well. The cannon balls are easily lost which is just annoying... not the fault of the item. My son plays with this outside of the tub also... but not as often. A lot of his toys are wood or metal - not suitable for bath. So its cool to have something that can be :2010-09-16 03:08:55
